[AcuBlog] Children respond better to Acupuncture 👶🏻!

Did you know children respond better to acupuncture than adults? 👶🏻

Acupuncture is continuously gaining popularity amongst pediatrics as people are experiencing pharmaceuticals to be more harmful than beneficial, especially to children whose brains and bodies aren’t fully developed. It’s also stressful mentally, physically, and financially when parents go from one specialist to another with no firm answer on how to treat their child’s illness. That’s where acupuncture comes in to save the day as it can address all of the following:

✔ Constipation, indigestion, pain, poor appetite, and more.

✔ Asthma, colds, and allergies.

✔ Frequent colds, ear infections, viruses, and more.

✔ Anxiety, ADHD, depression, learning disabilities, insomnia, and more.

✔ Headaches, back pain, and treating chronic illnesses.

Not only does acupuncture treat illnesses, but it is a great way to prevent things from happening. Some adults choose to have their children go through regular acupuncture sessions in their growing process to keep them healthy. In fact, children at a young age have incredible blood flow and receptive energy which makes it possible for them to heal quicker and respond quicker to acupuncture treatments compared to adults.

So, how does it all work?

➡️ Endorphins and enkephalins, which are pain-blocking biochemicals, are released when treated with acupuncture. With this support, the path for nutrients, hormones, and oxygen are much easily transmitted to the necessary tissue and organs.

➡️ Acupuncture stimulates the immune system, relaxes the nervous system, and regulates the digestive and hormonal system in order for there to be an equal balance of energy in the body to heal.

You can think of acupuncture to be a tool or a supporting sidekick to your body. Our bodies are actually capable of fighting diseases and healing injuries - with the right tool or side-kick like acupuncture, an issue that parents have been stressing over a couple of months to years can be resolved with just a couple of sessions of acupuncture.

Now you may be wondering…

❓How old does my child have to be in order to receive acupuncture treatment?

👶🏻 There is no fixed age to start to benefit from acupuncture. Dr. Regan Choi, our acupuncturist specializing in Pediatrics, has treated many children where the youngest was a month-old baby!

❓How many sessions of acupuncture are needed to see results?

👶🏻 It’s different for every child, but we suggest 5-8 sessions for mild or acute conditions and 10+ for deeply rooted conditions or chronic.

Licensed acupuncturists who specialize in treating children are in high demand and lucky for you, Dr. Regan Choi has been treating children and our reviews can definitely vouch for us. If you have been thinking about treating your child(men) with acupuncture, contact us for more details!
